I learn complex systems. Then I teach them.
After 30 years inside ERP systems, pharmaceutical labs, Mac and iOS development environments, and Mah Jongg tournaments, I’ve figured out what I do: I learn hard things deeply, then make them approachable for everyone else.

Hi, I’m Wes Stone
I’m the person behind The Netty Professor — an Epicor ERP consultant, Mac & iOS app developer, and NMJL Mah Jongg instructor based in Georgia. Those three things sound unrelated until you see the thread running through all of them.
I’m a systems thinker and a teacher. My career has been built on mastering complex systems — accounting software, pharmaceutical compliance frameworks, programming languages, tile games with dense rulebooks — and then finding ways to make them make sense. That’s the skill. That’s the brand.

15+ years inside Epicor — not just around it
I didn’t come to Epicor through a training program. I came through a facility sale. When the pharmaceutical plant I worked for was acquired, I was part of the internal team that implemented Epicor from scratch — migrating data, learning the system under real production pressure, and making it work without a safety net. That ground-level start is what separates my consulting from the manual-quoters.
Since 2010, I’ve run The Netty Professor as an independent Epicor ERP practice. My specialty is the financial module: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cost accounting, SOX compliance, and reporting. I’ve also worked across inventory, sales, production, purchasing, and the Kinetic transition.
What I bring that most consultants don’t: eleven years of financial-analyst experience at Merck & Co., QA rigor developed through FDA audit and GMP compliance work, and deep database query and analysis skills that translate into dashboards your team will actually use. Epicor’s manuals are my starting point — but after 15+ years of hands-on implementation, I know where the docs have gaps and errors, and my experience is what fills them.
I’m also a translator. IT, Finance, and production teams don’t always speak the same language, and miscommunication between them is one of the most common reasons ERP implementations stall. I can move between those worlds fluently, explain the same concept three different ways, and bring a room into alignment — something clients praise as much as the technical work.
Mac & iOS apps built the right way
The same instinct that drives my consulting — learn it deeply, then build something useful — led me into native app development. I build apps for Mac and iOS in Swift and SwiftUI: clean, fast, and designed to feel like they belong on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Muntin, a home-maintenance tracker, does one thing well: it helps homeowners stay on top of their property without spreadsheets or sticky notes. It’s a Mac app coming soon to the App Store, with an iOS companion in the works. Next up: Mah Jongg Decision Coach — a practice tool and rules clarifier for NMJL players.
Teaching Mah Jongg — seriously
I’m a self-taught NMJL player who went deep enough to become a member of the MahjLife Instructor’s Guild. I run workshops, have digitized the full NMJL rulebook, and am building a dedicated practice app for players who want to sharpen their game between sessions.
This isn’t a sideline hobby. It’s the third area where I’ve applied the same core skill: learn the system thoroughly, then help others navigate it.

The path that got here
My career has taken a winding path — and I think that’s the point.
The start
Typesetting & bookstores
Newspaper typesetting and college bookstores.
6 years
Family bakery
Co-managed a family bakery — accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the first computerized inventory system.
11 years
Merck & Co.
Materials Management → Quality Assurance (FDA audits, GMP, computer validation) → Finance (cost accounting, SOX compliance, corporate reporting).
Since 2010
The Netty Professor
Launched an independent Epicor ERP practice focused on the financial module.
Now
Three disciplines
Epicor consulting, Mac & iOS apps, and NMJL Mah Jongg instruction — one thread running through all three.
Education & certifications
The thread through all of it: complex systems are only intimidating until someone who understands them takes the time to explain them well. That’s what I do at The Netty Professor.
Let’s work together
Whether you need Epicor consulting, want to learn about my apps, or are ready to improve your Mah Jongg game — I’d like to hear from you.
